Bricksbury Hill – dilapidated

My TP colleague and I are firmly convinced that this is the correct location. Whereas others have tended toward Caesar’s Camp due to the adjacent lettering, Bricksbury Hill on the 25,000 map ( stripytigger 31 May 2020), peregrinus is content (25 May 2020). However, the lettering Bricksbury Hill ...

Re: The new primary GNSS stations

Many thanks for the prompt reply (busy last few days, including White Horse and Liddington Castle TPs). One more question, are there any photographs of such stations that I could use in a lecture? Best wishes, Sphinx2

The new primary GNSS stations

Good afternoon, a message for members. Does anyone know if the locations are readily accessible to the public. Locations at https://www.ordnancesurvey.co.uk/gps/os-net-rinex-data/

Also, has anyone developed a spread sheet for converting the Cartesian coordinates for these points into latitude ...

Re: Concrete ring trig points and a Wainwright error?

Thanks for yet more useful information. I have looked at the Arcre website, and although biased towards wartime histories, could well save some leg work!
Do you (or anyone else) have the TNA references for the trig point boxes. This could save some time.
Best wishes, Sphinx2

Re: Concrete ring trig points and a Wainwright error?

Dear Ted,

I have used Kew in the past on another topic, but I got the impression from my contact at OS that such records about TPs, etc, could be loose papers in boxes, rather than everything in tidy files! I suspect a visit would be essential. Doug

Re: Concrete ring trig points and a Wainwright error?

Dear Ted,

Thanks for the link although I had looked at this a week or so ago, and because Yarlside was not listed, assumed that the great Wainwright was in error. Perhaps the list needs updating, ...by the webmaster...?

OS would surely, in days of yore, have had a list of the rings. If so, the ...
