New trig found not listed on the database
I have just found a new Pillar not listed on the database. It is located at SK 52942 61683 in the grounds of Mansfield's 5th Scout Hut. It is an exact replica of a pillar less the metalwork and dedicated to Jack Webster 1921 - 2010 with a compass on the top. How do you add it to the database
Re: New trig found not listed on the database
Heres another "is it or isn't it a trig?"

Seen on the W side of Gelt Road, Brampton near Carlisle a couple of years ago.
Couldn't get close enough for a proper investigation. Still can't decide what it is!

Certainly looks like one to me. Are there any missing ones in the area I wonder? Perhaps a farmer has 'moved' one for logistical reasons. Certainly worth and expedition to verify any plates / metalwork etc.

Adding is easy, via MyTrig page, click on Log a visit. One thing to watch, having initially added the grid ref, on a later page you have to add it again, otherwise your new trig will appear at SW 00000 00000 off the Scilly Isles.trig-man wrote:I have just found a new Pillar not listed on the database. Whether to add, not so easy. There are lots of non OS trigs around, particularly associated with dams / reservoirs, and the general rule is to only add them to TPUK if there is a clear OS connection.
Having said that, here is a fine exception to the rule http://trigpointing.uk/trig/12707
Is there a photo somewhere? Or you could do what Griefmiester did, add it to TPUK (with photos) and leave it up to the Admin team whether to let it stay.
