This site was sold at auction on Thursday with planning permission for housing. So that the wealthy residents have wonderful views over the Solent the embankment around the seaward side will be demolished so this will likely see the end of the pillar, unless they are developers willing to save a little piece of history - bag it while you can!

According to @DeniseMc, as of the 10.2.24, this is "Sitting comfortably by entrance on plinth, rescued from ongoing building work and presumably awaiting relocation somewhere. Visible through security fence; new flats apparently a long way off occupancy." Hence, hopefully will be relocated
