Upper Beeding - West Sussex - Trig Point

Post by [email protected] »

Hi,

Just wondered if anyone might have visited the Trig Point at Upper Beeding by any chance? The NGR is TQ 20314 10543.

I'm researching Sussex windmills and the trig point was sited about 100 feet west of the mill site.

The trig point is no longer shown on OS maps, the screen dump of the pic attached is from a map circa late 1990's and is as the current OS maps shows (the 'flag' is my identification of the site reference number).

The clip you've uploaded looks like a section from the 1876 OS map (as taken from the 'Mills Archive' website) and if so it certainly wouldn't be a pillar.
