TP7883 - Ballards Ash 2
I was passing through the Ashton Keynes area on Sunday 6th July with my Android tablet, but no GPS. TP7883 - Ballards Ash 2 appeared on the TP App map at the eastern side of the village, near the footpath running alongside the gravel pit (SU059945). Of course, I couldn't find the Berntsen as it should be at SU059845. I tried reloading the database last night, but the trig is still showing on the Android App map at the false location.

You're right - just checked app and it has different northing from the TPUK webpage! One for Teasel...
Re: TP7883 - Ballards Ash 2
Should be fixed now, though you'll have to manually refresh your app's database, 'cos it doesn't do this automatically.
The problem is that the android app works off WGS coordinates, with the gridref field being calculated on the fly. Whereas the website is currently driven by grid references, with the WGS coords only used "behind the scenes" for links to googlemaps etc. When coordinates change, sometimes they get out of sync.
Next question is how many more trigs are similarly affected...

Re: TP7883 - Ballards Ash 2
There were 21 trigs on the android app (and google maps) showing up more than 10m different from their correct location, with 10 of those being more than 1km out! I've recalculated all the locations, so please can everyone refresh their databases, and I'll work out how to stop it from happening again...Teasel wrote:Next question is how many more trigs are similarly affected...

That seems to have fixed Ballards Ash 2 after a reload - thanks
